Petroc (formerly North Devon College) is the largest education establishment in North Devon, based over four main sites. They also host professional courses for local businesses and provide certificated and recreational evening courses for local residents.

I worked with Petroc on the full range of their creative needs, from designing and sourcing event stands to identities for new business areas.
In this particular instance, I was asked to look at a new identity for that years part-time course guides; three are produced across the year (one for each term), so the materials needed to be eye-catching enough to stand-out when they came out, yet feel like a holistic suite of materials. And, of course, they needed to make people want to pick them up and find out more.

Instead of relying on their traditional headline and photography approach,
I looked at using motivational statements relating to learning or addressing barriers for people to take courses (e.g. being nervous), and present them using creative typographical layouts. Each brochure had a different colour theme and retro styling to stand out, but used the same ethos to create a seamless collection. The designs were also rolled out across posters and press advertising.
